Propeller kraft i din BASIC Stamp applikation!

SPIN-STAMP är en modul som passar i samma sockel som BASIC Stamp moduler, tex Board of Education, BOE-BOT eller professional development board. SPIN Stamp arbetar med 3,3 Volts logik, och detta kräver i vissa fall enklare anpassningar, framförallt beträffande insignaler, men när detta gjorts får du alltså tillgång till de fantastiska prestande som propeller-datorn har med sina 8 snabba, parallella processorer.

SPIN-STAMP programmeras INTE via serieporten, utan ansuts i stället via en prop-plug till usb porten på din dator.

The Spin Stamp is a 24-pin module similar in form and size to the BASIC Stamp 2 family of 24-pin modules. The purpose of this microcontroller is to introduce the Propeller processor to the engineer who wants the features of the Propeller chip and ease of placement in an existing BASIC Stamp module project. The Propeller is a multi-processing chip with eight 32-bit processors (cogs) and shared memory with 32 KB of RAM and 32 KB of ROM holding a font, math tables, and Spin interpreter. The Spin Stamp includes a Propeller, 32 KB EEPROM, 3.3 V regulator, and 10 MHz crystal oscillator. The Spin Stamp fits in boards designed for BASIC Stamp modules where the I/O pins are not assigned to a specific purpose such as those listed as related products at the bottom of this page. The Spin Stamp module is not intended to be a direct drop-in replacement for any BASIC Stamp module and there are some important points to consider before purchasing the Spin Stamp:

• A Prop Clip is REQUIRED to program the Spin Stamp. It is plugged into the four-hole connector on the bottom edge of the Spin Stamp with the badge facing up.
• The Spin Stamp can be programmed in Propeller Assembly or Spin, a high-level language (The Spin Stamp cannot be programmed in PBASIC)
• The Spin Stamp module’s I/O voltage is 3.3V compared with the BASIC Stamp module’s 5V I/O. Applying 5V directly to a Spin Stamp I/O pin will damage the Spin Stamp. Existing projects may require adjustments in software and circuitry to prevent damage to the Spin Stamp. Any input pins that are subject to 5V must have, at least, a 1 kΩ or larger resistor that is series-connected.
